With a mouthful of metal and a healthy build, Queens, N.Y., native Betty Suarez (America Ferrera, in an Emmy-winning role) may not look like a fashionista -- but she's determined to inhabit that world. Betty's dream comes true when the head of a new magazine (Eric Mabius) hires her as his assistant. Soon enough, she's clashing with top brass at Mode magazine and charming her way into some chic inner circles.
