This intriguing drama mixes science fiction with a police procedural as DCI Sam Tyler (John Simm) is thrust from 2006 to 1973 after a traffic accident. As he continues to work cases, Tyler wonders if he's insane, is in a coma or has really traveled through time. As Tyler adjusts to solving crime the old-fashioned way, he frequently clashes with his curmudgeonly, thuggish boss, Gene Hunt (Philip Glenister), who is suspicious of his new detective.
