One of Disney's last musical combinations of live-action and traditional animation spins the family-friendly tale of runaway orphan Pete (Sean Marshall) and his pet dragon, Elliott (voiced by comedian Charlie Callas) -- whom others can't always see. Mickey Rooney and Helen Reddy (who sings the Oscar-nominated song "Candle on the Water") co-star as a kindly lighthouse owner and his daughter who take the boy and his dragon in.
