In 1989, a breakthrough in advanced parasitic research on Kuttyhunk Island went horribly wrong, with the survivors fleeing for their lives. Twenty years later, Jamie Akerman (Monroe) returns with her boyfriend (Krause), step-brother and best friend to sell the family property. When the past seems to be finally buried, a new strain of parasite emerges, and threatens the island once again.
