A young pregnant woman (Kate Beckinsale) is at odds with her boyfriend (Matthew McConaughey), the father of her child. He's adamantly against having the baby, for reasons that are a little vague. He finally confesses that he comes from a family with a long history of dwarfism and fears the same fate for their baby. Gary Oldman plays McConaughey's dwarf brother, who falls in love with the girlfriend.
