On the verge of bankruptcy, English gentry Lord and Lady Foxley (Peter O'Toole and Joan Plowright) rent their mansion to the country's hottest rock band, which includes the talented Nat (Alicia Silverstone), a bass guitarist who's new to the group. When the hired servants fail to show, Lord and Lady Foxley must pose as the butler and cook, as they mix it up with their wild guests and fuel the fire of culture clash in this charming comedy.
