In director Roger Spottiswoode's farcical comedy, fastidious detective Scott Turner (Tom Hanks) is saddled with a slobbering new partner -- a dog named Hooch. The pup's previous owner has been killed, and he and Turner team up to collar the culprit. Amid the high jinks, cheery veterinarian Dr. Emily Carson (Mare Winningham) gives Hooch a checkup -- and checks out Turner at the same time. Craig T. Nelson co-stars as the police chief.
