Cecile (Virginie Ledoyen), fresh faced and free spirited, has arrived in Paris looking for adventure and excitement. In trouble after an attempted armed-robbery goes disastrously wrong, Cecile meets hard-nosed and respectable Michel (Gerard Lanvin), a distinguished lawyer who enjoys the millionaire lifestyle that his success has afforded him. To the bemusement of his wife (Carole Bouquet) and colleagues, he agrees to represent her in court, a decision that turns his life upside down.
