The Art of Getting By

Freddie Highmore stars in this romance tale as a teenage rebel with no time for textbooks, but when he's given a glimmer of friendship with longtime crush Sally Howe (Emma Roberts), the trench-coated loner discovers that some feelings aren't too trite to explore. Gavin Wiesen's directorial debut also features Rita Wilson and Sam Robards as Highmore's mother and stepfather, as well as Alicia Silverstone and Michael Angarano.

There's a bit of pseudo-intellectual garbage droning on in the beginning, but after you get past that it's a slightly quirky and awkward teen romance flick. All of the characters are decent, and the story is fairly cohesive.
