Jill Hennessy ("Law & Order") makes a well-received return to television as Dr. Jordan Cavanaugh, a brilliant Boston medical examiner who uses the pain of her mother's unsolved murder to go beyond what's expected of her at work. As the series premiere unfolds, Jordan is catching up with her father (Ken Howard), a former police officer, after moving back home from Los Angeles to resume her old job with the Massachusetts State Coroner's Office.
