Meg Ryan is one of three sisters (along with Diane Keaton and Lisa Kudrow) responsible for the care of their aged, infirm and cantankerous father (Walter Matthau, in his final role). The problem is, Keaton and Kudrow are driven career women too busy to pitch in with their fair share of support. That leaves Ryan holding the bag in this seriocomedy directed by Keaton and written by Nora Ephron from sister Delia's novel.
