Prison lasted three years, but making good with family is a life sentence for ex-con Tommy (Tim Allen), who comes home to an eccentric sister (Sigourney Weaver), a skeptical brother-in-law (J.K. Simmons) and a grandmother who thinks he's been on leave in France. Ready to turn over a new leaf, Tommy winds up flipping burgers and falling for his parole officer, Angela (Jeanne Tripplehorn), all the while fending off his scheming buddy (Ray Liotta).

There's a lot of silliness going on here, like a comedy skit more than a legitimate film - but that describes a lot of Tim Allen's work. There are a few genuinely funny parts.
