It's the year 2020, and man has successfully landed on Mars. But something goes awry, and all contact with the mission and its commander (Don Cheadle) is lost. NASA hurriedly prepares and launches a rescue mission co-piloted by Cmdrs. Woody Blake (Tim Robbins) and Jim McConnell (Gary Sinise).
