The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
2003

In the final installment of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen) is revealed as the heir to the ancient kings as he, Gandalf (Ian McKellen) and the other members of the broken fellowship struggle to save Gondor from Sauron's forces. Meanwhile, Frodo (Elijah Wood) and Sam (Sean Astin) bring the ring closer to the heart of Mordor, the dark lord's realm. Director Peter Jackson's epic won 11 Academy Awards, including Best Picture.

The most dramatically effective of the three LoTR movies. But it dragged on and on and on... They could've ended it after the ring-tossing scene, but no...

This third installment actually has too much war. The film is half hobbits, half war, and gets repetitive pretty fast.
