True Blood
2008
Mind-reading waitress Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin, in a Golden Globe-winning role) dives into a complicated relationship when she falls for vampire Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) in a world where the undead live openly and drink synthetic blood. Trying to improve their image and legitimize their finances, the out-of-the-coffin bloodsuckers hire PR firms and contribute to influential Republican politicians, among other tactics.

HBO never fails to disappoint with well-acted, decently plotted pornography. True Blood is no exception. While vampires doin' it requires a fairly extraordinary suspension of disbelief, the characters are colorful and plenty.
Vaguely interesting - but unlike Californication the sex scenes just end up seeming gratuitous - and the story is rather plodding. Nelsan Ellis is by far the best character on the show.
Different from other vampire Movies/TV Shows. I didn't like it much at the beginning, but I started to get hooked on it :) Now, I need a daily dose of Tru Blood...
