Masterchef takes amateur chefs and attempts to turn one of them into a culinary master. Contestants on Masterchef will be put through the paces with various challenges as they compete in heats to create delicious dishes.

I'm not a big fan of how they eliminate people, keeping only one from each heat - rather than eliminating the worst. This was fixed in MasterChef US and I think it makes the show much more entertaining.
