With a nod toward producer Steven Spielberg's landmark sci-fi films of the 1970s and '80s, writer-director J.J. Abrams crafts a supernatural tale about six kids who witness something incredible while shooting a movie with their Super 8 camera.

ET for those who were kids when the original came out in 1982 and want something fresh and updated on the same theme. A good mix of military conspiracy and hidden monster menace, with an excellent emotional payoff.
The last scene was the only good thing about this movie - not worth watching nearly two hours of terrible child acting. The story is simple, a bit cliche, and any suspense it might have had is marred by high school writing assignment quality dialogue
