It is the year 2194. The Gamilons, an enemy of undetermined form, invade Earth and most of humanity wiped out. Five years later the planet has been polluted by radiation, and those who remain alive have fled underground. One day a mysterious capsule falls out of the sky, sent from the planet Iscandar - 148,000 light years away. In search of the valuable information told of in the capsule, the Space Battleship Yamato blasts off for distant Iscandar.

Foreign with subtitles. I enjoyed this film quite a bit - it felt much more genuine than many recent space sci-fi films. More about the characters than whiz-bang gadgets - though it has a reasonable storyline and cast.
