The casting system is reasonably intuitive, and the gameplay itself is as fun as Torchlight, though the heavy corridor feel of the levels detracts a bit. There is a smattering of story and humor throughout, but I wouldn't call it story-driven.
I picked this up when it came out and it was a buggy mess. Apparently patches have made it playable - maybe it's time to go back.
Yeah it's pretty solid. Not something I'd spend a ton of money on, but for the current $2.50 on Steam sale I think it's worth it. Would be more fun with less of 'defeat lots of enemies' and some mana management strategy.
Looking back, one thing that would be a huge improvement - a hotbar you could assign your top 5 spells to 1-5. I respect the letter->element system, but there are times when I'd find it easier to type a whole word than remember a combo.
Fun, humorous, and frantic. Almost too much so; there are so many explosions and elemental effects everywhere that it's easy to get lost. Made up for by the responsiveness of the controls and the variety of spells. Best played with friends.
