After his bent for muckraking nets him a job at a glossy Big Apple magazine, boorish British tabloid writer Sidney Young (Simon Pegg) tries to curry favor with his imperious boss (Jeff Bridges) and the synthetic glitterati Sidney covers -- with disastrous results.
