A biography/travelogue by the author of The Notebook. An easy read, but with significant insights about life and relationships. We learn that success doesn't guarantee a tragedy-free life.

Highly recommended for anyone looking to control their blood sugars. This guy knows his stuff and lives it himself. This book has changed my life.

Not terrible, but definitely on the level of a made-for-TV movie. Acting was credible, story predictable.

Jolie did deserve the Oscar, even though the character resembled at least part of her actual self I think. Full of disturbing mental institution types, so not a comfortable movie to watch. I thought Brittany Murphy's character was the most poignant.

Bridges and Damon were phenomenal, but the girl (main character) threw the movie out of whack, and the dialogue delivery sounded stilted instead of authentic. A slow movie with some disjointed parts--something better watched at home with a remote.

Older story by the author of Rebecca. Tale of mistaken identities and human character. Really enjoyed it!

Absolutely classic Disney perfection in every way. Saw it in 3D, which enhanced the experience even more. Unbelievable animation.

Easy to read but awash with useful ideas drawn from sociological studies to help us live our everyday lives more effectively. Many findings are counterintuitive or expose long-held beliefs as myths--what really works in life and what doesn't.

A truly unique book--speaks right to the heart and thoughtfully sifts through what prayer is and isn't. Yancey explores prayer inside and out in his unassuming, compassionate style, and you are hooked by each thought-provoking chapter.

Saw it twice and loved it even more the second time. Even when you know the outcome, the movie is thrilling. Malkovich, Ellis and Martindale shine in brilliant supporting roles, and both Lane and the horse give perfectly mesmerizing performances.

Good espionage fun, even if the plot was predictable. With such a great cast, how can you go wrong?

Love this movie--am a huge fan of well-made espionage flicks. Hackman (one of my all-time favorite actors) delivers perfectly as always, and Smith delivers a solid, very likable, believable performance. Well done throughout.

Out of the ordinary plot with outstanding acting by Cage and even better acting by Travolta. The shoot-outs, fights, and chases get a bit tedious, and some characters become caricatures, but the story line twists enough to keep you watching.

Some good moments and a lot of interestingly stylistic camera work, but perpetuates the "thieves as heroes" concept--the only really bad guys are those who don't maintain loyalty. The sense of camaraderie is enjoyable, on both sides of the law.

This movie doesn't totally wow you, but you also don't feel ripped off after seeing it. It delivered solidly (albeit with a predictable plot) with a mixture of sorrow and comedy--which made it feel like real life. Both stars were fun to watch.
